Rethinking the Mannequin

In our industry, training tools are essential. But waste doesn’t have to be. That’s why we’ve been rethinking the mannequin for decades. In 1976, Pivot Point founder Leo Passage invented the Slip-On mannequin, introducing a foamless alternative to the traditional training head. Then, in 2005, we introduced the first iteration of what is now our Cap Series—a mannequin designed around a reusable ABS plastic headform. Instead of replacing the entire mannequin when it’s time for new hair, the cap can be replaced while the headform is used again and again.

Since then, we’ve continued refining the design and moving closer to a more responsible solution. In 2024, we reached an important milestone: for the first time in our company’s history, we produced more foamless mannequins than foam-filled mannequins.

Our evergreen goal is even bigger: 100% foam-free at Pivot Point International. Every Cap Series mannequin helps move us closer.
