Senior Accountant
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to work at our Evanston, IL location. The Senior Accountant reports to the Senior Director of Finance that is primarily responsible for the financial statements, analysis and annual audits for our company. Ideally this person will have a solid understanding of the Company’s business and objectives, an attitude of professionalism and collegiality, an ability to serve as an effective role model, excellent accounting and financial knowledge and a solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Candidate Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 4+ years experience in financial accounting. The Certified Public Accounting designation is required for this role. Required advanced computer skills include MS Office Suite, especially Excel. Our general ledger software is through Netsuite therefore experience with this software system is preferred but not required. First-rate oral and written communication skills required. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detailed-orientated, and works well on a team.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Conducts month end close and financial statement preparation and analysis
- Prepares and presents monthly financial statements to senior management.
- Prepare documentation for interim & yearend audit
- Processes daily and weekly cash reporting including assisting with daily wire activity and cash posting.
- Prepares daily sales reporting to assist business owners with management of the business
- Attends quarterly collection meeting with business leaders to ensure all accounts are collectible
- Prepares monthly calculation of 90:10.
- Act as business partner with Division Head to provide financial analysis and assistance with annual budget.
- Other ad-hoc tasks that may arise and assigned be assigned by management throughout the year
Hours of work may vary based upon Company needs; the typical work week ranges from 40 to 50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during our core business hours 8:00am to 6:00pm.
